Ian Spiteri Bailey graduated in Law from the University of Malta in 1993. He furthered his studies and graduated in EU (Employment & Social Policy) Law in 2004 from the University of Leicester. He is a member of the Chamber of Advocates (Malta) and has been a Chamber Committee member for the past ten years, presiding over the Ethics Committee.
Founding partner of GSB Advocates, he has practiced law for the past 15 years, mainly in litigation, in various areas of law but mainly in Civil, Family and Employment Law.
He is an examiner in Employment Legislation within the faculty of law at the University of Malta and regularly lectures in Employment Legislation.
Previous work experience includes working experiences at the Law Courts and the Office of the Attorney General, prosecutor at Local Tribunals, Commissioner for Justice and member of the National Employment Commission.
Currently presiding over the The Small Claims Tribunal, The Refugee Appeals Board and the Malta Environment & Planning Authority Appeals Board.
